Media Solutions

Your Responsibility

Legal Copies and Uses

If you use the Edustream media solution to store your files, you must still comply with copyright law and Fair Use principles. You are personally responsible for any content you upload and it is your responsibility, separate from that of Foothill College, to be certain your materials are legal to copy and use.

Accessibility and ADA 508 Compliance

Please remember that you are required to provide accessible formats for all online content, whether or not students with disabilities are actually registered for your course. For video that means captioning.

Grant funds are available for captioning. -Application process-

From the Faculty Handbook

Please refer to these resources for information on copyright compliance.

  1. Copyright and Fair Use for Education Poster
  2. Fair Use Best Practices Guidelines
  3. TEACH Act
"Students and staff may copy material on public use equipment in the Library. Copyright laws apply to materials in all formats (print, electronic, or microforms)."
"Obtain permission from the publishers if materials are not your own and are copyrighted. These forms and the laws which govern copyrighting are available in the Bookstore."
