COIN74A - Assignments

There are twelve assignments in this course. All assignments must be submitted through ETUDES-NG as further described on the How to Submit Homework page. If you have not used ETUDES-NG please follow this tutorial before getting started. If you have questions, please email me, and always include COIN74A in the subject line of your correspondence.

Assignments may be submitted at any time prior to a due date.

Once an assignment is due, the assignment window will remain open for one week (to the minute). Once an assignment window has closed it cannot be reopened. If the window has closed do not submit assignments links by email.

Assignments

  1. Assignment 1 - Configure Dreamweaver (Lessons 1)

  2. Assignment 2 - Set up a 4 page website similar to this example (http://krypton.fhda.edu/~username/HW2/index.html). All pages must have titles, meta tags, internal and external hyperlinks, images and an email link at the bottom of each page. You will submit a single link in ETUDES which will be similar to http://krypton.fhda.edu/~username/HW2/index.html (It will look like the example link). If you have your own website the assignment link might look like http://www.yourdomain.com/HW2/index.html. Please follow assignment requirements carefully, as grading needs to be an efficient process. (Lesson 2)

  3. Assignment 3 - You will demonstrate the ability to format text, and integrate other small features such as tables, etc... (Lesson 3)

    You will use a homework template, HW.htm, which allows us to quickly navigate through your homework assignment. Go the the How to Submit Homework page to see how this is to be done.

  4. Assignment 4 - You will use CSS in the Properties Inspector (PI) to create inline, internal, and external styles. (Lesson 4)

  5. Assignment 5 - You will insert Images, and using rollovers, image maps, and navigation bars. (Lesson 5)

  6. Assignment 6 - You will demonstrate use of tables, templates, library items, and snippets. (Lesson 6)

  7. Assignment 7 - You will demonstrate the ability to integrate multimedia (Flash video). You will also start to think about your final project. (Lesson 7)

  8. Assignment 8 - you will create a form. (Lesson 8)

    Form (must use CGI, Perl, PHP, or formmail (recommended)) Do NOT use mailto as an action.

  9. Assignment 9 - You will demonstrate positioning, behaviors, SPRY behaviors, CSS templates and CSS positioning. (Lesson 9)

  10. Assignment 10 - You will create a frameset, and insert an iFrame, Gadgets and Widgets. (Lesson 10)

  11. Assignment 11 - You will fill out simple.xml and create an XHTML document, a nested XML model with attributes, RSS and an XML sitemap. If you have not taken a formal course introducing you to xhtml, parts of this assignment will be difficult to complete. Please work through the tutorial as you will use xml as a web developer, and Dreamweaver CS4 will support limited xml development. (Lesson 11)

  12. Assignment 12 - You will demonstrate ability to use the Google Webmaster and Analytic tools. (Lesson 12)
