In assignment twelve you will demonstrate skills in setting up Google Webmaster Tools (GWT), and learning to use Google Analytics.
Part 1: Create a Google Webmaster account. Do a screen grab of your Google Webmaster dashboard, and link to it from your HW.htm page. It should look like the one in the Google Webmaster lesson. You may need to have a private Web account for indexing. If Google cannot verify your sitemap.xml file, explore and describe Google Webmaster tools instead. To create an account follow the steps in the Google Webmaster lesson.
Part 2: Create a Google Analytics account. Either do a screen grab that shows the stats or describe the webmaster and analytic tools. It should look like the one in the Google Analytics lesson. You may need to have a private Web account for indexing and analytics. If you cannot complete this section of the assignment, explore and describe Google Analytics instead. To create an account follow the steps in the Google Analytics lesson.
Write up a summary of all the above and put it into a separate web page that I can read. Call it analytics.htm or something like that, and link to it from HW.htm. Tell me about what you have learned, and the pros and cons of using these tools. You will be a better webmaster, and make more money from a more satisfied client when you master these tools.
Upload your files to your server space, and submit the URL to the Assignments (TT&S) section of ETUDES. Please check your work before (and after) uploading the files, so there will be no surprises.
